    Pharmaceutical equipment maintenance

One of the decisive factors when choosing a service company is its real ability to provide high-quality maintenance throughout the long service life of the equipment.

AT Engineering specialists believe the role of service is to help you use your equipment as efficiently as possible.

Service is the set of work performed by a service company to ensure the customer’s legal protection and economic benefit.

Warranty-period service means carrying out, on time, all the work on which uninterrupted operation of the equipment depends.

Post-warranty service is provided for a fee under a contract. During this period the service company carries out preventive maintenance and overhauls, supplies spare parts and advises on effective use of the equipment. At the customer’s request, the equipment can be modernised and additional staff training provided. The goal of post-warranty service is to reduce equipment downtime, extend intervals between repairs and ensure safe operation.

Our service relationship with each customer is based on contracts that set out the obligations and responsibilities of both parties.

Service from AT Engineering means peace of mind and a stable production process.

  • Pump shaft mechanical seals

    Pump shaft mechanical seals

    Description

AT Engineering offers mechanical seals for pump shafts.

A mechanical seal is the assembly that keeps a pump leak-tight where the shaft passes through the pump cover. Tightness is achieved by pressing together the end faces of high-precision parts — one rotating and one stationary.

    Main types of mechanical seals

    • Metal bellows mechanical seal
    • Conical spring mechanical seal
    • Rubber bellows mechanical seal
    • Pump mechanical seals in a metal housing
    • Universal cartridge seal

They are made from materials such as silicon carbide, aluminium oxide, tungsten carbide and graphite impregnated with metals or synthetic resins. Rubber, Viton and nitrile can be used as secondary seals.

A mechanical seal is a fast-wearing pump component, so to avoid downtime and losses we recommend keeping a stock of these parts. The main causes of seal failure are wear, incorrect application, dry running and seal sticking.

Mechanical seals are used in the chemical, petrochemical and food industries, as well as in power generation, district heating, utilities, cosmetics and veterinary applications.

We recommend mechanical seals from EBARA, WILO, LOWARA and FRISTAM.

AT Engineering’s advantage is not only supply but also replacement, repair and service.

    Design and features

The PSVM-01 microbiological sampler is a portable instrument for determining the level of microbiological contamination of compressed gas in aseptic production operations. Official verification of the PSVM-01 air sampler is required for inspections. The PSVM-01 flowmeter should be calibrated periodically (usually annually) by an official agent; official flowmeter verification can also be performed by PBI support.

    • A) A contact plate with medium is inserted into the housing.
    • B) The PSVM-01 is connected to the compressed air outlet.
    • C) The operator adjusts the air flow with the flowmeter knob.
    • D) The operator controls the volume of compressed air (or gas) with a timer (e.g. 10 minutes for 1000 litres of air).
    • E) Finally, the contact plate is transferred to an incubator for CFU counting.
